Don Chance Solo Guitar Act Project
Some Background:
In late 2008, I started a band with some business school colleagues. We had some local success, but as all bands do, we lost some personnel a couple of times, and just could not find the replacements that lived up to our standards and wanted to be in a band. So we decided to go our separate ways. I then decided to strike out on my own as a solo vocalist and guitar player. I found myself playing and singing much better and getting more gigs. Solo acts require less space, cost less money, and make less noise. Of course, this comes at the expense of not being able to really drive a dance floor. Solo acts are, thus, better for small gatherings, restaurants, and events where there is unlikely to be dancing, though I have had people dance at my performances.
